Happy Monday! Hope you lovelies had a wonderful weekend!
Lately, I’ve been drawn to all things plaid, checkered and flannel. Maybe it’s the season, maybe it’s all the amazing styles that I’ve had my eye on lately (this one needs to be in my closet), either way, it’s bound to be on huge repeat for me in the upcoming months.
The great thing about plaid is that a little can go a long way, and it is definitely not a print that you have to overdo in one look. I usually try to stick to basic, neutral pieces when playing with the print, since it’s a pretty loud statement piece on its own. I paired this J.Crew top with a pair of skinnies, my favorite pair of fall booties and a fancy little necklace to add a feminine touch to keep it from looking like I was wearing a pajama shirt.
Along with plaid being a staple in your fall wardrobe this season, a good pair of booties is a necesscity as well. These comfy Madewell babies are over a year old and easily the ones I reach for first when putting together a look. And let me just put a disclaimer out there – I am not gentle on shoes. I’m super clumsy and can constantly be found stubbing my toes or bumping into things; many a shoe has been ruined because of this. So if you’re like me and tend not to look where you’re going (my boyfriend constantly reprimands me for this – I’m a danger to walk with), I’d give these a try. Since I already have my sturdy pair covered, I’m leaning more towards what’s trending now. Currently, I’m loving these cheetah numbers and definitely adding these to my cart!
