Photography: by the talented, Rachel DurikIn all of my adult life, I have never owned a leather piece of clothing. Bags, shoes and all, of course. But jackets or pants? Nope. The only leather jacket I have owned was when I was 10 and asked for a light blue one from Limited Too [aka Justice. Anyone else remember this super trendy tween shop?!]. And though I’m not entirely sure what a light blue pleather jacket goes with [Lizzy MGuire was my fashion hero], I’m sure at 10 years old that I wore that baby to its threads.

Since then, I just haven’t found a leather jacket that I loved. Either they were too boxy, too shiny or too unstructured, you name it, I found something wrong with it. That’s why when when this one from Gunny Sack and Co. immediately caught my eye, I knew it needed to have a happy home in my closet. The draped collar, which is universally flattering, was just the solution to my leather jacket hesitations. I paired it with my favorite pair of skinnies, a simple white tee and subtle pops of color to make it a causal, everyday type of look. To make it a little date night prettier and appropriate for Valentine’s Day, I’ll be throwing on this pink pretty under it, black heels and some sparkly jewels and I’ll be set!

What is your favorite way to wear leather? Any must have leather pieces?!

Thanks for reading! XO!

Cute look and I'm so glad you have found the right leather jacket! I'm obsessed with my faux leather jackets and probably wear them too much. 😉 You are rocking those sunnies too! XO
