Tunics are one of those styles of tops that you never really give much thought to. Usually when I read ‘tunic’ in a clothing description I’m hesitant. I’ve had experiences with tunics where I either look like I accidentally picked my top from the maternity section, or I’m hiding a box under my shirt. Thankfully, tunics have recently come a long way from looking like a muumuu, so I’ve come to embrace it! Now it’s a summer staple and the easiest choice to throw on when its brisk 143 degrees out! [Or when you’ve eaten a whole Dominos pizza the night before. Totalllllly not talking from experience here…]. Because, really. Wearing something tight or restrictive in this heat is around the equivalent of carrying two 50 lb children on my back.
I wore this little outfit a few weeks ago for some wine tastings and a date night. This striped Madewell chambray is one of those workhorse tops that you find yourself always grabbing for! These photos were taken right after I pulled it out from the pile of clothes crumpled in my suitcase. I was in shock. No ironing or steaming and it didn’t look a bit sloppy! Miracle y’all, because I’m a hot mess at ironing. I probably could have gone down a size, but I loved the longer front to it since it’s a high-lo cut! I paired it with my forever favorite Free People clogs, white shorts, and carryall tote for an easy summer date night look!
Thanks so much for reading! XO!
