Happy Friday!
I have to admit, my fall color scheme is slightly predictable. I tend to lean towards darker, earth toned neutrals instead of branching out with brighter orange or red hues. My absolute go-to shade for the past few weeks is, without a doubt, olive. It’s become a little obsessive. To the point where A & I were at the mall last weekend and I picked up a jacket to ask if he liked it [he was only half paying attention, of course], and he said “don’t you have a lot in that shade..”. I justify it because I treat it like a neutral! The shade has a military connotation to it, especially since it’s the number one color for ‘field’ jackets. But, that doesn’t mean all of the sihouelttes have to be masculine! Throw it with a tonal print or brights, or leopard and it goes from a drab shade to fab! It also adds the right amount of texture and muted color without being overbearing, which I love.
This Madewell field jacket has been my saving grace this season. From throwing it over dresses, jeans and a tee, to leggings it’s been the perfect addition to my fall jacket rotation. Keep it causal or dress it up – it’s virtually fail proof. I prefer picking up utility jackets that have the option of cinching at the waist to make the cut a more feminine. I wore this a few weekends ago for farmers market shopping and lunch, and dressed it up with my favorite Rania Dabagh pieces! I love this adorable longhorn necklace to dress up a tee!
What’s your take on the olive trend? Love it or leave it?!

Absolutely love the olive trend! I usually wear darker colors too, but olive is more a “light” fall color so it’s great to add to the mix. Love the cut of the Madewell field jacket!
